This was a fantastic sequel. Admittedly, there were a few moments where I was bored, but those were few and far between.
The story was brilliant. I admit it seems, at first glance, recycled from the first book, but the enemy is more sinister and the obstacles more heart wrenching.
Both Sadie and Carter showed growth, yet still remaining true to who they are. Sadie is still hilarious, and Carter pensive yet sensitive. New characters like Walt and Jaz show up, although there wasn't enough time to get to know Jaz as well as I'd have liked to.
Riordan never disappoints. He is a master of storytelling, at least to me. His knowledge of Egyptian mythology, as well as description and character building just show how great he is.
You won't be disappointed by this installment.
