Oh my god. I can't even describe how good this was. I'll preface this review by saying I saw the movie first, but that doesn't change my opinion of the book.

The book is about a defense attorney named Michael "Mickey" Haller. He gets a potentially high paying case but gets something much different than expected.

First off Haller is an amazing and interesting character. The book is told from his perspective you get so much insight into his thoughts and how he feels about everything going on. You feel what he feels. I truly connected with him and wanted to know what happened to him with each page turn. That's another great thing about this book. It's a pageturner. I'll admit I didn't understand completely all of the legal jargon and such, but that doesn't make the book hard to comprehend. You want to keep finding out what happens and do not want to put the book down.

I'll say this flat out, I love the book and the movie. But I do lean more towards the book. Such an brilliant novel and I can't wait to read the next one.
