This was such a brilliant book. The action, the friendships, the romance, god, everything. I loved the pacing, as well at reading Gwen's journey. Another fast paced, fun book to read, despite some heavy themes.
Gwen was a great protagonist. Admittedly, her brooding was really the only thing that annoyed me about her. I loved her sense of humor, her style, and I loved her powers. She was definitely someone who could hang in comic shops and hang out in bookstores (what is it with me and wishing fictional characters were either a boyfriend or best friend? X_X). Logan, to be honest, I didn't find that amazing. I mean he had his moments, sure, but I didn't really connect to him. I did, however, love Daphne. She was such a great character, and I loved her development. I liked how she and Gwen developed from not-really-enemies to friends, to close best friends. Other characters like Grandma Frost and Professor Metis were made of pure awesome.
I thoroughly enjoyed Ms. Estep's writing style. She knows how to get into a character's head, and knows how to build a world very well.
